POSITION SUMMARY
QEM is seeking a Research Coordinator to provide support for the Lumina Foundation and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation grant-funded projects. The Research Coordinator will manage the daily operation of the research projects by performing tasks including but not limited to, developing and responding to communications, organizing data collection calendars, and conducting research.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Planning and Organizing

  • Coordinate with the project leadership team on study timelines to ensure activities are conducted within the proposed timeframe

Conducting Research

  • Review and provide feedback on study protocols
  • Collect data using electronic tools
  • Assist in conducting interviews with research subjects
  • Check the validity and accuracy of collected data
  • Compare reports to raw data to reduce errors and ensure that information is current and complete
  • Follow up with research subjects or other researchers to verify information
  • Use qualitative or quantitative methods to analyze data
  • Use statistical evaluation tools/methodologies to present operational data
  • Use advanced data modeling technologies to derive insights from the information gathered
  • Analyze information to determine whether working hypotheses are correct

Preparing reports

  • Synthesize information collected from interviews
  • Prepare reports related to project activities and findings
  • Work collaboratively with grant personnel to write research reports for professional presentation and publication

QUALIFICATIONS 

Education/Professional Experience

Required Skills:                                                                    

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong ability to complete tasks independently
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Skills:     

  • Knowledge of statistical methods
  • Research methods knowledge
  • Project management abilities
  • Experience working with the Indigenous community

Minimum Requirements:                                      

  • Master’s degree in social science/STEM-related field
  • Previous experience in an office setting
  • Previous experience in a team-based environment
  • Experience with meeting rigid deadlines
  • Experience with research/evaluative techniques

WAGE/SALARY: $70,000 per year
